Lubrication & Capacities

Information taken from Rover 2000 workshop manual

Lubrication

Type Full pressure
Nominal pressure 50-60 lb/sq.in (3.5 to 4.2 kg/cm2) at 30mph (50kph)
Sump capacity on single carburetter engines 8 pints (4.5 litres) plus one pint (0.5 litres) after fitting new filter
Sump capacity on twin carburetter engines 9 pints (5 litres) plus one pint (0.5 litres) after fitting new filter
Oil pump
Position external on right hand side of cylinder block
End-float, outer rotor 0.005 inc (0.12 mm)
End float, inner rotor 0.005 inc (0.12 mm)
Rotor diametrical clearance 0.010 in (0.25 mm)
Clearance between lobes of inner and outer rotors 0.006 mm (0.15 mm)
Oil pressure release spring
